Zondo are seeking to use their newest product as a way of increasing the visibility of vulnerable road users to reduce accidents.
Zondo announced that on the 26th March it had launched a Kickstarter campaign to get its Zondo Firefly Backpack to the production stage and eventually to market. After much positive feedback from the general public of London regarding the Firefly prototypes the companies CEO, Richard Beardsell, saw Kickstarter as a brilliant opportunity to help the bag to reach market.
Funds raised by the project will be used to cover material costs, packaging, shipping and most importantly quality control testing of the bag. Richard has stated that if the campaign is successful then full scale production will begin in August and shipment of rewards to backers will begin in September. He also assures us that they are still very much on schedule for this time frame.
In exchange for backing the campaign are a variety of rewards ranging from a Firefly bag from the first production batch to a seat at the Zondo design table, an exciting opportunity and something the Zondo team has never tried before.
With the concept of the bag being to increase visibility and save lives the team at Zondo feel that they really will make a difference with this product. CEO Richard said “You may not know the school child or the cyclist you save but the driver that sees them instead of killing them will be equally as appreciative.”
