Zomtrack is a board game about a zombie pandemic on the U.S. passenger rail network for 2-5 players and has a one-hour playing time.
You can have YOUR PICTURE in the game.
All games shipped will come with a set of zombie/survivor cards, and the images will be the pictures from the $225/$230 contributors. We will “zombify” the zombie cards and jack up the survivor cards, if necessary, to have them match the theme of the game.
In Zomtrack, the cards control the action.
You draw a hand of cards and use them to implement the strategy you have chosen. Back the survivors and spend your time destroying infestations and gaining victory points (VPs) and bonus cards. Did the horde you backed become dominant? Did the survivors’ strongholds hold out? End-of-game bonus cards score based on how well the strategy you backed ends up working.
The Game Board
There are 48 cities on the game board, which is a map of the Trans-American Rail Network. Patient Zero is a railroad union president that is sending out infected members to seize the rail network for the newly-formed United Zombie Union.
There are several paths to victory points by using one of the strategies or a combination of several.
On a tactical level, play action cards to score VPs based on starting infestations, survivors retaking infected cities and creating strongholds, and one horde absorbing an adjacent horde.
Score VPs based on your influence in the various hordes as they are absorbed or destroyed, and also at certain points in the game.
As a euro-style game, it has multiple mechanisms to accumulate victory points and also has end-of-game bonuses. There is a high-level ability of players to affect other players’ scores and tactics. This is the interaction of the six zombie hives constantly trying to absorb each other while competing for control of the cities and destroying survivor strongholds. Don’t count out the survivors as they are able to wipe out zombies and retake cities.
High-end graphics and unique miniatures
By using Kickstarter to launch this game, we will be able to produce a premium game with high-end graphics and unique miniatures. The $5,500 level will allow the production of 100 games. As the stretch goals are met, the cost of production goes down dramatically, and so we can include more stuff in the games for the same $55 cost to the people that back the game.
The Zomtrak board game is 90 percent complete, and we play it on a regular basis. What “90 percent” means is that we can manufacture and ship it as is, but there is room for upgrading the graphics and playing pieces. We want to upgrade the cards using zombie and survivor pictures of the Kickstarter backers. We want to add miniatures instead of wooden disks for playing pieces. We are also ready to upgrade some of the art in the game. This costs money, and starting at the $30,000 stretch goal, we will start putting this stuff in the game.
The principals at End of the Line Games have been playing all kinds games for more than 40 years. As members of the Dragonflight.org volunteer organization, we have been involved in running many Dragonflight conventions over the years.
