ZipSocket turns your light on at dusk and off at dawn automatically tracking the sunrise and sunset times based upon its location. ZipSocket calculates the sunrise and sunset times for each day of the year and adjusts continuously.
ZipSocket was created when the founders tried to find a reliable, easy to setup lighting solution that would turn their home lights on at night and off in the morning.
ZipSocket is NOT a smart bulb.
They first turned to smart home lighting but found that smart home lighting solutions are expensive and not reliable. Smart bulbs need a hub connected to your home network and additional services and apps to make them work. Smart bulbs fail when your internet connection goes down and require expensive hubs and can be hacked.
ZipSocket is easy to install and setup.
The ZipSocket founders turned to programmable light switches. Programmable light switches require an electrician to install and are not compatible with all existing in wall wiring. Programming the light switch was difficult and time consuming.
ZipSocket is Reliable
Photocell based lighting solutions turn on and off lights if they can detect natural light. Many light fixtures don’t let in enough natural light for the photocell to accurately work and your light bulb ends up flickering or staying on or off. The placement of lights under porches and inside the house can also block natural light causing the light not to turn on or off.
ZipSocket was created so that anyone can install and setup a dusk to dawn light.
