World renowned fantasy illustrator Rodney Matthews and his wife Sarah Matthews have begun work on an exciting new animation adapted from their recently republished children’s book ‘Yendor – The Journey of a Junior Adventurer’. The couple are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds to complete the 20 minute adventure of a young boy with BIG dreams!

Fed up of being “the small one in the middle” Yendor decides to set off into the unknown – but the country is wild out there – can the junior adventurer really take on the likes of a Grabsting or a Grumposaur or even the nastiest customers of all, the Maurauding Scrawnies?

Primarily this charming tale is aimed at young children, BUT it will resonate with adult fans of both seventies art and music. There may be a few softer edges than some hard rockers are used to but there is no mistaking Rodney Matthews’ distinct style that has appeared on the covers of Asia, Eloy, Magnum, Nazareth, Rick Wakeman and so on. The narration, provided by Mrs Matthews, is given the prog rock treatment as it is accompanied by a full length soundtrack composed and performed by Yes keyboardist Oliver Wakeman!

The “all or nothing” Kickstarter campaign must raise the whole £9,000 to be successful. In exchange for your pledge of support, backers will gain access to a variety of rewards unobtainable elsewhere, including digital wallpapers, stickers, postcards and art prints, as well as original concept art due to appear in the animation. Plus, there are Associate and Executive Producer credits up for grabs, and a rather unique opportunity to own some custom artwork, as Rodney creates your very own masterpiece based on your idea!
