Adelaide, Australia — On December 15, 2016, Roxana Paul announced that she is planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign for The Venetian Carnival Tarot kit. Venetian Carnival Tarot is a classically structured 78-card deck with masked characters that reflect the cultural vibrations of Venice when Tarot was invented. Applying Jungian determination of the ‘Persona’ (Mask) archetype, the cards’ images reconstruct symbolism of that time and talk to a reader.

“I believe Tarot symbols aren’t like traffic signs to be straightforwardly interpreted but have an abyss of meanings,” said Roxana Paul, “They are rich with connotations and are never exhausted by any interpretation. The Venetian Carnival Tarot cards speak not only to your logical mind but your irrational part also.”

The Venetian Carnival Tarot cards are intended for professional and amateur Tarot readers who can use these traditionally structured, fabulous cards in reading sessions. They can also be used by followers of New Age, modern paganism, Theosophy, and other contemporary esoteric movements as a tool for self-development. Through thought-provoking and intuition-triggering images that release the imagination, these cards can open a full spectrum of teaching/healing possibilities for life coaches, counselors, and psychotherapists. Lastly, Tarot collectors can find evocative imagery, vibrant colors, and brilliant digital performance in this deck.

Morena Poltronieri, Director of Museo Internazionale Dei Tarocchi, Italy, describes Venetian Carnival Tarot, “A work of art really interesting and precious. It goes to the heart of one of the most magical times of the year, the Carnival, which as we know is connected to ancient rites and a mythology that still joins past to present. The colors are bright and vibrant, but not detract from the mystery. Surely it is a gate through which to enter into another world and learn what is behind the mask or just reveal it, so we could use this Tarot deck also as an instrument of knowledge and evolution. A unique work suitable for beginners, but also sophisticated collectors.”

Roxana Paul is an exhibited artist, Tarot designer, and illustrator whose mediums include oil and digital. She has been a Tarot reader for five years as well as a member of the Tarosophy Tarot Association and the International Tarot Foundation. Her works draw upon her interest in mysticism, self-development and spiritual transformation with special attention to the Tarot theme. She created the Maori Tattoo Tarot deck.

“My goal is creating and giving this unique ‘talking’ deck to Tarot lovers to enforce their reading through understanding their own or querents’ real desires and inclinations that are hidden behind social masks,” she explained.

Venetian Carnival Tarot is a full 78 card tarot deck. The cards are borderless, with rounded corners. The standard 2.76” x 4.72” (70mm x 120 mm) cards are printed on high quality 350 gsm stock that is convenient to shuffle. The decks will come in a sturdy two-piece box complete with a 120-page guidebook, which takes a look at Tarot through the prism of Carl Jung’s ‘Psychological Types, and the key archetypes: the Persona, the Shadow, and the Self to explain and direct the divination process. This edition of the deck will only be available through this Kickstarter’s campaign, including a special Gift Set that is limited to only ten backers.

The Kickstarter campaign is set to raise USD 16,000 to cover working capital costs such as printing, packaging, and shipping rewards to backers. All cards of the Venetian Carnival Tarot deck and big size cards of the Gift Card Set are ready to print.
