Treefort Five Kickstarter Launch: Learn How to Make Plush Toys

Treefort Five, a new website dedicated to teaching the art of plush toy making has just launched their Kickstarter campaign yesterday, July 11, 2013. Details can be found here: kck.st/1b4f9r0

The goal for Treefort Five is to become a new destination and community for learning skills, finding patterns, and buying all-in-one material boxes to make your own plush toys. Treefortfive.com has also launched, including listings for the first products available through the Kickstarter campaign, as well as sneak peeks at the first skill tutorials, including everything from 2 Ways to Thread a Needle, to Pinning and Cutting a Pattern.

The campaign features the first Treefort Five box: The Peek-A-Boo Monster Plush – a blue felt monster with a silly grin, oversized horns and outstretched arms ready to hug or play Peek-A-Boo. The monster is quickly becoming the mascot of Treefort Five and leading the way toward new exciting boxes.

“Growing up, I usually had the benefit of raiding my quilter-Mom’s closet for materials and inspiration. Treefort Five boxes are my version of the magic of “closet raiding”. Each box includes a pattern and materials to create a handmade object from start to finish. You’ll be able to choose from a selection boxes at any time, from beginner to advanced as you learn at your own pace.”

The Kickstarter target goal is $1000, and after just 16 hours, the campaign has reached 66%. All funding goes toward building the Treefort Five community, which includes packaging, pattern materials, web development fees, and video equipment for tutorials. Reward levels range from a heartfelt thank you and official backer status, all the way to patterns, boxes, totes, and custom plush toys and boxes. Early Bird backers also receive the Peek-A-Boo Monster Plush box at a $5 discount.
