Writers and Readers Have Spoken; Something Needs To Be Done About The State of The Publishing Industry.
Nowadays, you have a better chance of landing a date with a famous celebrity than you do getting your manuscript picked up by a reputable publisher. The Big Five seem to only want stories that can also be optioned as movies and small publishers are extremely selective due to their small catalogues. Now, authors have taken the matter into their own hands and turned to self publishing which has become a better route to go, for most. But the costs involved with proper self publishing can reach into the high thousands once an author’s book is on the market.
Guardian publishing wants to offer authors another option, a better option. Unlike most publishers, Guardian won’t turn away a near perfect manuscript just because it needs edits or the author doesn’t have representation. Guardian aims to work with each author individually and turn their manuscript a best selling story. But it doesn’t stop there. Once an author’s book is published Guardian stays with them every step of the way to market and promote it properly.
“We saw a need for change and just knew that we could make a difference,” says Candace Osmond, professional writer and founder of Guardian Publishing. “As an author myself, it’s an issue that really hits home.”
Candace hopes that the company’s catchy motto will help inspire writers to keep doing what they do best and trust Guardian with their hard work. “Because every great writer deserves to be published and every great book deserves to be read.”
