Triskelion Games launch first project, The Thinning Veil, on Kickstarter

• New strategic board game combines dungeon crawler and adventure gaming in one box
• Based on Celtic methodology and Irish legends players can personalise everything within the game
• Based in the UK, the new board game company was established by miniature painter and board game enthusiast Paul Rose

On October 31 Triskelion Games launched its first ever campaign on Kickstarter to support the production of its original title The Thinning Veil.

A 1-4 player cooperative tabletop board game the game encompasses narrative storytelling that is inspired by Celtic mythology and Irish legend.

The story begins on Samhain (the Celtic festival marking the start of Winter) as the Veil between two worlds thins. The Land of the Living, Inis Fael, where the High King reigns is under threat from dark and malefic forces from the Land of the Dead. The Veil that separates the two realms is weakening. Inis Fael needs heroes to fight for its survival and pull its people back from the brink of the abyss.

Within the game players take on the role of heroes that pick up skills, weapons and armour to take on an array of enemies. With an already finished rulebook and over 100 hours of existing campaign material the game includes 33 written scenarios, 21 of which have been rigorously play tested by over 30 testers.

Creator Paul Rose said: “The last 18 months at Triskelion have been dedicated to designing the game, evaluating and testing how the story, gameplay and game mechanics work together to progress players through each scenario and campaigns. We wanted to bring to Kickstarter a fully realised product that is accessible and offers playability to as many people as possible.”

In exchange for pledging to the project, backers will get access to a variety of rewards including discounted RRP on all products, Kickstarter exclusive miniatures and the opportunity to join a community that will shape the final game.

Also playable in solo mode, The Thinning Veil will be produced in English and digitally translated into German, Spanish, French and Italian. The campaign will end on 30th November 2022.
