The Rocket is the world’s first ever, hands-free roller cover cleaner, using simple water jet technology! It’s is a revolutionary product, with a patented design that actually saves you time, money, and labor! We have recently launched our Kickstarter project, and need your help! Please visit our page for more information and to donate to the project! Here’s all you need to know about this wonderful new invention:
The roller cover was invented in 1940, and after nearly 75 years there still has not yet been a practical cleaning system… until NOW! With repeated use, the Rocket will pay for itself and ensure the longevity of your roller covers! Additionally, with each use, you are helping the environment!
We talked to a local retail paint store here in the Pacific Northwest, and asked how many roller covers they sell each week. They sell between 200-300, which means that in one year alone, in only 50 stores, they sell over 750,000 roller covers! Can you imagine how many a bigger store, such as Home Depot, or Lowes, goes through each year? The Rocket is designed to improve the longevity of roller covers and keep them OUT of landfills!
Designed for both the professional and the do-it-yourselfer, you will be amazed at its simplicity. You will MARVEL as you see the paint wash away before your very eyes, as your hands stay completely clean!
The Rocket’s patented design works with both standard residential water pressures, and higher water pressures. It works independently, using hydro-powered pressure to spray and spin roller covers clean. It’s primarily made up of polypropylene, an ABS. Additionally, with its clear acrylic extrusion, you are able to see the magic happen before your very eyes! Its patented design works exclusively with latex paints and roller covers of the 9-inch length and all naps. It even comes with a 3 foot garden hose and an adapter that works for both indoor and outdoor use.

Starting 6 years ago, I realized I was onto something when using a garden hose to wash paint off of roller covers. I meticulously worked on prototype after prototype, trying to find a way to clean roller covers quickly and efficiently. I knew the painting industry needed something that would make cleaning roller covers easier. Through trial and error, ups and downs, frustrations and success; the path was always interesting and I never wandered off the yellow brick road. Eventually, my prototypes became more efficient, and with your donation, we can get the Rocket off the launching pad! BLAST OFF!!
What’s Next
The lion’s share of funds raised will be used to secure the injection molds for the product itself. We have utilized 3D printers to make a working prototype which is seen in the video. Now we are at the stage where we need to get the injection molds made, and the first run of Rockets to the market! Once the molds are made and the Rockets are assembled, they will be sent out to all of our pledges and marketed to the world.
We have already been in talks with a Northwest regional painting supply store and they have agreed to put the Rocket on the shelves at ten of their largest stores! We have also been in talks with other suppliers in the industry and have garnered a large amount of interest.
Manufacturing Plan
Made 100% in the USA! Green Leos’ sole purpose is manufacturing, production, and distribution of The Rocket.
Since the idea’s conception in the summer of 2008, founder and C.E.O. Billy McPhee has tediously and relentlessly focused on the Rocket coming to absolute fruition. We aim to build a company from the ground up! This grassroots approach shall create new jobs, which will in turn support the local community. With this simple yet unique approach, Green Leos aims for a greener future.
We believe we can establish our product as a necessary staple in the retail market. We use a simple approach will allow us to focus completely on offering our customers the highest quality product, at a very reasonable price.
The Green Leos Manufacturing and distribution facility shall be located in Portland, OR. We have the location in place, and it will consist of assembly and production lines. There shall be various stations consisting of pre-production, assembly, testing, and packaging. The facility will use modern production techniques to keep our labor costs at a minimum.
Operations Strategy
- Initiate injection mold process which takes approximately 6-8 weeks
- Secure facility for office and manufacturing warehouse
- Construct and organize assembly and production lines
- Order parts from vendors
- Set up and manage sales accounts with local companies
- Produce one thousand (1,000) units ready for distribution
- Launch marketing plan
There has also been a considerable amount of time put into marketing of the Rocket, and to the people and places that we want to see this tool. We will implement the marketing strategy once The Rocket comes to complete fruition! A lot of excitement happens once someone who has had to clean out a roller pad sees the Rocket in action, especially when they see how much time and energy are saved.
The time to launch the Rocket is NOW!! With your donation, we can make the Rocket a staple in the painting industry. Please click here to visit our Kickstarter page, and please donate to help us launch the Rocket!
