Futuristic style meets function in a groundbreaking bag system. 6 interchangeable pieces, designed to be worn in 11+ ways, 100% badass.
Volante Design is on a mission to replace every bag in your closet with the Operator System. We’ve all been frustrated with closets full of bags that aren’t right for the job. That’s why we designed the Operator System: a high quality, American-made modular bag system that holds everything, looks sharp, and is built to last. Carry what you need, when you need it, and look like a professional.
The Operator System is an interchangeable, modular bag system, comprising 6 pieces. The ultimate mix of form and function, this system can be worn in over 11 unique configurations.
A system designed for the ultimate ease of use, we chose the versatile pivot buckle to attach bags to the Strap and Frame. This buckle allows the individual bags to move with you and adjust to your body. A smooth clip in/pop out mechanism allows you to change up your configuration in seconds.

Our Lead Designer and founder, David Volante, began thinking about the concept for the Operator System in 2019 after a trip to Japan. In August 2020, we began working on the Operator System in earnest. The Operator System was built piece by piece with contributions and feedback from the whole team. Willow said durable material was a must, David wanted configurations that would work for any situation, and everyone agreed the look had to be captivating and commanding. Like all our designs, the Operator System balances form and function.
Volante Design, established in 2013, has been making clothing focused on innovative men’s fashion. We draw inspiration from our favorite nerdy fandoms, anime, scifi, comic books, video games, and more. We currently have licensing deals with Ubisoft, Star Trek, and Sony PlayStation among others.
So, why Kickstarter? We’ve always strived to do things our way, without compromising our integrity and our values. We started with about $200 in the bank, have never relied on investors, and want to keep it that way! While we’re new to Kickstarter, Willow & David ran a successful Indiegogo campaign in 2013. Since bags are a new product category for our team, we’re turning to Kickstarter to help us bring them to life and to share our innovative design with as many tech-savvy early adopters as possible!
You’ve been distinctive all your life. Get a system as distinctive as you are.
