Hi everyone! I’m new to this site, so please treat me gently! I’d like to tell you about my new ‘Kickstarter’ project ‘The Little Green Tree‘. I’m hoping you will support me!
‘The Little Green Tree‘ is a 36 page, full colour children’s story written and illustrated by myself.
The story takes place near the Grand Canyon in Arizona and revolves around a little green tree, standing almost at the edge of the canyon, with his taller friends and brothers and sisters.
In the first book, the Little Green Tree is trying to peep over the edge of the canyon, in an effort to see what lies below; sadly, his shadow is covered by the shadows of the other meaner trees, thus blocking his view. The other trees laugh at the Little Green Tree and refuse to tell him what is over the edge. What follows is a tale of sadness, love and consequence.
The Little Green Tree book was written following a trip I made many years ago to the Grand Canyon. Whilst flying in a small aircraft over the canyon, I saw a little tree almost at the edge of the canyon and the story developed from there.
This book is, hopefully, the first in a series of four, telling the whole story of The Little Green Tree.
I have worked in and around the publishing industry my entire 35 year career, creating artwork for comic books, publishing magazines and, so far, I have four books in publication. This is my first Kickstarter Project, but ‘The Little Green Tree’ will be my 5th published book. The fund raising goal is for printing the book (and other rewards) and any excess will go toward printing more copies and/or the next book; if the campaign meets the initial goal and continues to raise additional funds, I will use the funds to promote the book and series.
The first book is complete and ready for the printer – then comes the challenge of distribution and recognition! Although I am working on zero funds trying to get this project off the ground, it’s still been a worthwhile project for me and, at last, the vehicle is here to get it published and into the hands of YOU, the public! As you will all no doubt be aware, today’s printing costs are very high and that is why I need your help!! It is my desire to continue the saga of The Little Green Tree so that we may eventually publish all four books and then produce the whole story as an animated film. Any proceeds left from this project will go toward producing the next book and so on. Opposite you will see the levels of rewards for backing this project; you can get the book in both soft back and hard back, signed by myself, along with the chance of bookmarkers, badges, fridge magnets, prints, a ‘mini film’, complete with narration and ultimately original artwork (not from the book), all signed and personalized and very suitable for a gift and/or framing! So – please help me once again; this book can only be printed with your support!
