Monterrey, Mexico — Stefie Zohrer is an illustrator and fantasy writer, sporting a Bachelor’s in Video Production, who has decided to bring her stories to life by using the power of the internet. Her feature presentation is a 13 issue comic book series, “The Epic Legend of Orgnob”. This tale is set in an era full of wizards, swordplay, and magic adventures that will transport the reader to a heroic mental journey for the ages.
“…inspired by countless hours of Dungeons & Dragons and fantasy films,” Zohrer shared her dream of creating a story that will take people on travels to distant lands.
Opening up about her daily life, Zohrer shared about tough times. She hopes to strengthen others with her dreams, and let people know she can relate to their situations.
“I had to drop it… to take a full-time job,” she said, remembering when she had to make ends meet by doing whatever was necessary. Putting her passion of art on hold didn’t cause her to lose sight of her goal.
Now a stay-at-home mom, Zohrer aims to self-publish 1,000 copies of the first issue of “Orgnob” by June of 2016. Embracing both print and digital media, the comic book will also be circulated online to readers around the world.
Focused on creating new characters and detailed art, her free-hand drawings speak for themselves. A blend of cartoon themes with realistic tones, it’s easy to become immersed amongst the custom ink lines.
Pursuing her plan from all angles, Zohrer will be using the raised funds to not only publish hard-copies of “Orgnob”, but will also be connecting with readers by attending national comic conventions. She hopes to inspire others to pursue their passion, no matter the current circumstances they may feel “stuck” in.
To show her appreciation for those that donate, she has created an impressive list of various “perks” that will be received by the giver. The highlights of these perks include copies of the comic, t-shirts, pins, stickers, posters, 20” “Magical Sword of Orgnob” replicas created with felt, and a custom-created portrait of the donor as a comic character available for digital download. The top tier of donors will receive a wearable “Helmet of Brawn” that is an exact copy to what one character uses on his adventures in the comic. More perks are set to unlock as the campaign goals are met, with new items unlocking at 30%, 50%, and 75% of campaign completion.
“Thank you for joining my battle cry,” Zohrer said as she felt the love of supporters, “I hope you liked my project.”
The campaign deadline is set for January 19th, 2016, with a funding goal of $3,700 USD.
