For the past year, Judgment Entertainment has worked diligently to bring “Mouse in the House”, a comically entertaining puzzle game to the iOS community. Judgment has now launched a thoroughly detailed Kickstarter campaign in an attempt to gain the final monetary assets needed to launch the title in the first quarter of 2014.

“Mouse in the House” is about boy named Ralph and his pet snake, Sniper, who are left home alone, which is when an army of determined, silly mice decide to attempt a takeover. As Ralph, the player will utilize different traps and items to defend their home from the relentless assault.

The overall goal is to line these mice up and launch them from the screen. To accomplish this, the player will make use of a resource (cheese) to activate these traps and items to launch the mice from the field as they try to make their way from one side of the screen to the other. In order to add strategy to the game there are different types of mice with different abilities. In addition, these mice must be stalled with certain traps to line them up, either horizontally or vertically, to replenish the available resources.

When launching a mouse from the screen the player is rewarded with additional resources and an increase to their score and score multiplier. To create a sense of urgency and keep the pace of the game moving quickly, the score multiplier, which can reach as high as 99, will completely reset if no mice are trapped within a set amount of time.

Aside from the standard traps, the player will have access to the in-game store where they can purchase new traps and upgrades. In-game currency can either be acquired by playing levels or through in-app purchasing. The game will also include features, such as Facebook and Game Center leaderboards.

Wanting to bring the best possible experience to the iOS, Judgment exceeded their budget plan for the project and has turned to Kickstarter, a crowd-funding site, to help raise the additional funds to bring a well-polished game to the iOS.

Entire project details can be found at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/858938716/mouse-in-the-house?ref=live

With the successful launch of “Mouse in the House”, Judgment Entertainment plans to continuously work on the game until it is a polished gem while eventually moving onto other projects while also establishing their headquarters, bringing new jobs to the community.

Company Info:
Brothers Gordon and J.D. Snurr founded Judgment Entertainment in early 2013 with the sole purpose of creating video games. Their first project, “Mouse in the House”, has been in development for almost a year now and the team is working hard to see it come to fruition early 2014.

Labyrinthós, a 224-inch long maze puzzle in the form of a book, is now available from its creator via a pledge through Kickstarter.

Labyrinthós, a maze puzzle game in the form of a 28-page book that can be played like a board game, is now available for a limited time only via a pledge through the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. The maze puzzle book is available until October 20.

Labyrinthós is the labor of love by the artist Maciek Jozefowicz, who says that the book is meant to be much more than a simple maze puzzle. “Well, this maze puzzle is not simple. Its total length, if you add up all the pages, is 224 inches. That’s a looong maze,” says the creator.

What makes this maze puzzle uniquely rich is that it is both a piece of conceptual art and an expression of the creator’s philosophy.

As conceptual art, the book can be viewed as an post-modern, abstract coloring book. The artist created an abstract, densely woven, linear skeleton which is to be completed by the player who adds the color. Thus Labryinthós becomes an artistic collaboration.

And like any art of substance, Labyrinthos is a personal expression of the artist. “The maze doesn’t have dead-end paths in it,” explains the artist. “I loathe the idea of dead-ends. There are no dead-ends in life, just better or worse paths. Some paths lead to where you want to be, others do not. But all paths can be changed.”

That is one of the main themes of Labyrinthós as art: freedom of choice, freedom to choose your own paths.

And that is not the whole story of Labyrinthós expression. Another important message that the artist is attempting to communicate through this puzzle game is that there are different ways to get where you want to be. There is not any one right answer. There are multiple answers.

But the layers of Labyrinthós are an addition to what is after all a maze game. And what makes it a unique maze game is how the artist incorporates the maze into the book format. In addition to having densely interwoven paths that continue on from one page to the next, Labyrinthós also allows players to jump over multiple pages using “jump portals”.

The Jump Portals add complexity and variety to the maze that can be played in a traditional way in which a single player has to find his or her way from the beginning of the maze, the front cover, to the end of the maze, the back cover.

But Labyrinthós can also be played like a board game in which multiple players, each having their own copy of the book to mark, use dice to collect points and treasure while at the same time trying to find their way to the end.

And finally, there is the “Labyrinthós Love Story”, a two-player, one-book game-play in which two players begin at the opposite ends of the maze, one on the front cover, the other on the back cover, and they have to “find” each other.

The Labyrinthós game is available in five formats, each format is a unique maze puzzle that contains the same elements and game design. The formats are a 28-page hard-cover book (Labyrinthós), an 8-page booklet (Little Labyrinthós), and a 4-page folded card (Baby Labyrinthós). In addition, the artist has created a Labyrinthós Art Print and a Labyrinthós Triptych, a set of three prints that go together like adjacent pages of the Labyrinthós book..

For those interested in finding more about the Labyrinthós maze puzzle game please visit the artist’s website at http://www.konokopia.com or the Labyrinthós Kickstarter Project Page at

ISTANBUL – July 10, 2013 – First seen at the 2013 Game Developers Conference, the acclaimed puzzle platformer Monochroma is now heading to Kickstarter. Nowhere Studios, the Turkish studio behind the game, is seeking $80,000 in completion funds after 18 months of self-funded, full-time development. The game is due on December 2013 and will be released on Windows, Mac, and Linux — and eventually Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Ouya.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/445804219/monochroma

Set in an alternate universe during the 1950s, Monochroma tells the story of a boy and his brother who witness a horrific crime committed by an evil corporation. The brothers must now survive six hours of devilishly clever puzzles in order to save their world from tyranny.

“We support human rights and are against violence in every form,” says Burak Tezateşer, Executive Producer at Nowhere Studios. “Monochroma stands against the savage capitalism that exploits child labor and strips the planet of its natural resources for selfish financial gain.”

Inspired by current events as well as the developers’ childhood memories of moving from the countryside to Istanbul, Monochroma tells its story without any cut-scenes, narration, or in-game text. Players learn about the environment and follow the story through carefully crafted black-and-white visuals with splashes of red. As a result, the story is instantly understandable by players of all nationalities – without any localization required. More so, the puzzles in Monochroma take a more realistic approach by blending in with the environment. Accurate physics simulation ensures that interaction (pushing/pulling objects, sliding, jumping) always feels right.

Another Monochroma trademark is the relationship between the two brothers. Early in the game, the younger brother injures his leg after a bad fall and now must be carried by his older sibling. At times, the player needs to temporarily stop carrying him in order to solve puzzles. However he can only be placed near safe, bright areas—because like most kids, he’s afraid of the dark! This gameplay mechanic defines Monochroma as a cerebral, methodical puzzle game that rewards players who are caring and brave at the same time. Being a responsible older sibling is mandatory—just as in real life.

The deadline for Monochroma is Saturday, August 24. A fully-functional demo can be downloaded from http://www.monochromagame.com/Monochroma/redirectdownloaddemo.html. The demo includes the first 30 minutes of gameplay and runs on most Windows, Mac and Linux PCs equipped with a modern GPU (graphics processing unit).

The game’s soundtrack was recorded by Turkey’s well-known psychedelic folk band Gevende. Cutout artwork and animation are credited to multi award-winning LOV B&D. Steam users can support Nowhere Studios on the game’s Greenlight page.

Kickstarter and Trailer: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lexisgames/taxi-journey

Champs-sur-Marne, France – June 27, 2013 – Lexis Numérique, one of Europe’s leading independent video game studios, announces the launch of a crowdfunding campaign via KickStarter.com for its forthcoming game, Taxi Journey.

With the video game market going through a historic transition period, crowdfunding for games is really taking off. Studios have used KickStarter.com to raise record budgets of $3.3m (Double Fine Adventure), $3.9m (Project Eternity) and even $4.2m (Torment: Tides of Numenera). However, no French studio has yet gone down this road.

Lexis Numérique is the first French studio to launch a video game funding campaign on KickStarter.com. The 30-day campaign begins today and ends on July 27th, and aims to raise $230k (£150K or €177K) to complete the funding requirements for Taxi Journey.

Taxi Journey is an original game, mixing adventure and puzzle gameplay in a universe that combines poetry, humor and mystery.

Gino, a big man of few words, has a taxi with a difference: he’s broke, so he gets on his bike and his customers hop on his back. After an encounter with a mysterious young girl called Zoe, he ends up journeying to strange faraway lands. Together they meet some engaging and amusing characters but also some more sinister types who will do everything in their power to stop them.

Fully pencil-drawn, Taxi Journey has a powerful and highly personal graphic universe which draws inspiration from a range of very attractive sources, including the films of Tim Burton and the Japanese filmmaker Miyazaki and the beautiful Limbo.

According to Djamil Kemal, Marketing & Business Development Director, “this funding campaign is consistent with the desire of Lexis Numérique to retain its independence and bring gamers innovative games. We hope that gamers will join us in this adventure”.

The fundraising page on kickstarter.com is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lexisgames/taxi-journey

About Lexis Numérique

With over nine million video games sold worldwide (putting it in the same category as Ubisoft, Disney, Konami, etc.), Lexis is one of Europe’s leading video game design studios. Having topped the sales charts several times (the Uncle Albert series, Imagine: Fashion Designer, Alexandra Ledermann, In Memoriam, and more), Lexis is often cited by the American and European press as one of the most innovative studios in the world. Lexis creates games for desktop (browser and Facebook games), mobile, smartphone, tablet and games consoles, and has also been making games for businesses and brands (advergames and serious games) for over 15 years. Lexis Numérique’s latest creation, “Alt-Minds”, is regarded as one of the most ambitious transmedia projects in the world.
