"53 Days of Joy" Book Cover

Studio 747 Media will soon be releasing “53 Days of Joy: A Guide to Living a More Jubilant, Vibrant Life”, a coffee table book with an accompanying mp3 playlist of uplifting instrumental music. The book is written by San Diego-based author and artist Maria Palma with contributions from inspirational speaker Moya Gaines-Ramos and music producer Jedidiah.

“53 Days of Joy” contains inspirational quotes, art illustrations, short essays, and messages that will help the reader discover joy in everyday life. The accompanying music can be listened to as the book is read.

To raise funds for printing and marketing the book, a campaign has been launched on Kickstarter.com offering various rewards to backers including digital and hardback copies of the book, original art work, and personal one-on-one coaching. The Kickstarter website has helped many artists and writers launch various projects with much success.

“In light of Robin Williams’ story and the countless number of people going through depression, my hope is that this book will help readers realize that they are not alone,” says Maria Palma. “I believe this book can begin the process of healing the despair and sadness that plagues so many people’s lives.”

According to the World Health Organization, depression is considered a worldwide epidemic, with 5 percent of the global population suffering from the condition. Also, major depression is the leading cause of disability for Americans between the ages of 15 and 44, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

“One of the ways that people can start a path of healing depression is through a change in mindset and focusing on the positive aspects of their lives,” says Palma. “As someone who experienced depression for many years, I can empathize with those who are facing challenges with their mental health.”

Maria Palma has written many articles about happiness on her blog, The Good Life, a site dedicated to personal development and helping people attract more abundance into their lives. “53 Days of Joy” will be her second self-published book.
