Stratagem™, the debut offering from 6th Gear Games, is on Kickstarter now until May 30 (www.kickstarter.com). Already over 35% funded, this addictive abstract strategy game has attracted the attention of some of the biggest names in the independent board gaming industry.
An ideal balance of luck and strategy, Stratagem is light enough for family fun night but substantial enough to be a go-to choice for the most avid gamer. Players take turns moving their pawns around the board, claiming each space they enter with hexagon tiles. Each claimed space that survives a round is converted to a controlled space and points are scored. Action cards can be played to ensure that nobody is ever safe (or counted out).
Stratagem’s benefits go far beyond simple enjoyment. It’s the perfect way for parents and teachers to develop problem solving, strategic thinking, rational thinking and cooperation skills in young people without books or lectures. The more these skills are used and honed, the more fun the gameplay!
During development of the game, disabilities such as color blindness, short term memory loss and low vision impairment were considered. The result: a fast-paced, easy-to-learn game that everybody can enjoy!
