So what is Threshold? Threshold is a survival building RPG in a vast world just waiting to be explored and conquered. Players will be able to deform terrain, build structures, fly airships, fight pirates and monsters, and much more.

We are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough money so that we can focus entirely on Threshold. You can find the link here: www.kickstarter.com

We also have an IndiDB where we will be releasing weekly updates on the game’s progress as well as the Kickstarter progress : www.indiedb.com

You can look forward to seeing an update there this Sunday January 26, 2014.

Threshold will use the Voxeland plug-in to create unique worlds that allow players to modify the terrain and mine resources predictably without resorting to flat cubes. One of the things that made us decide to go with Voxeland was its interface. Players can clearly see where they are going to dig or place a voxel, and can easily visualize the result.

Threshold also employs a block building system that allows players to construct almost anything they can imagine. Not every block has to be a cube either. Threshold primarily uses bricks to create structurally sound buildings. That’s right, Threshold will also calculate structural integrity. Blocks cannot float in the air, and will be rated on how much load they can take before breaking.

Crafting will allow players to construct the tools weapons and building materials that they will need to survive and thrive in Threshold. The crafting system uses a grid that allows players to place items in a pattern to get their desired object.

Crafting tables give players a larger grid to work with for more complicated patterns. However, not all recipes can be created with your bare hands alone. Each crafting table will also have three tool slots. Certain tools will be required to build higher level items. A bore for example might be used to make barrels for rifles or handguns. A chisel would be required to cut raw stone into stone bricks.

Placing a second crafting table next to the first creates an extended crafting table. This creates a larger grid with more tool slots to allow for the most advanced technologies and powerful weapons.

With your contributions we will be able to focus on developing Threshold. With the money we are trying to raise, we will be able to keep ourselves fed and housed for a full year, cover the costs of licensing Unity Pro and Voxeland, and to provide a substantial art budget that we can use to either bring on talented 3D artists, or outsource model and animation creation.

The plan is to go after Steam Green light and have a playable early alpha in a year’s time. With your support, we believe can finish the game by 2016.

We would be honored if you would share our Kickstarter page to help it get out there, and we would be deeply grateful if you made a pledge.
