Today was the day The Starfall saga comic book campaign was released. This is a comic book created by to young people Aris Sabariotis and Kostis Evagelidakis who are very passionate about comics and superheroes.
The comic is set on a post-apocalyptic earth many years from now where most of the resources are depleted and rare. The story arc is around a young rebel named Oulrik who is the son of a legendary rebel named Borin. Oulrik struggles to forget his past and to stop living in the shadow of his father Borin. He is not alone nevertheless, along side him there is his friend and mentor Momentoya, a former elite rebel fighter and bodyguard of his father, who is training Oulrik to become a hero and the man his father would have wanted him to be.
The comics artwork is inspired from by the 90’s comic book styles as the comic book creator and artist is a big fan of this artwork style. Mr Sabariotis although he is relatively an amateur illustrator, i was surprised by how how he evolved his skills through the comic pages. He was very excited about this project and it was his passion and love for comics that made him never to give up and improve over time. He has much to learn but i am confident that he will get even better given time.
The writer and co-creator Kostis Evagelidakis is responsible for the script of the comic book. Being raised with anime like Grendizer Robotech and thundercats is an big fan of comics and anime and has been looking for an opportunity to write a comic book since he was a kid. When questioned about the comic his response was “In order to enjoy the comic book one must wait for some issues to be published.”. According to him the story unfolds over the course of the issues connecting characters with certain events, promising lots of plot twists and turns.
So will Oulrik succeed in his journey? What does the fate has in store for him? I guess we will have to wait and find out
