“I wanted to create something that I could share with my friends, family, and anyone else who would benefit from listening,” said Brown. “Ever since I moved to Nashville I’ve been writing a lot of music, so I wanted to show everyone the influence this city has had on my songwriting.”

Brown launched the campaign on April 3, 2014. The campaign has 30 days to reach its funding goal of $2,000 that will go to cover production costs. By the end of the first full day donors had already contributed over $500 to fund the album, roughly 25% of the project’s funding goal.

Work on the album, an EP consisting of five original instrumental songs, began last September when Brown’s roommate at Belmont University introduced him to an alternate guitar tuning. This provided inspiration for the first song to go on the album, “Snow/KY.” Since that first night, Brown began experimenting with a number of alternate guitar tunings, pushing himself to compose in ways he had never written before.

Forrest Brown was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Cumming, GA. He started playing guitar at 12 years old and has been writing and playing music ever since. He is currently a freshman music business major at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
