For a start, let me introduce myself. My name is Nikita Atroshenko. I’m 16 years old. Since age 4 years old, my diagnosis is “asthma.”

Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. For some people, asthma is a minor nuisance. For others, it can be a major problem that interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack. Asthma can’t be cured. Now more than 300 million people worldwide suffer from this disease and their number is constantly increasing.

Easier speaking, during large physical activity, asthmatics begin attacks of breathlessness. Because of this, most of asthmatics limit themselves in exercise or deprive of them at all. But it is wrong and it is a very big problem! Since age 10 years I started regularly ride a bike, then I began to increase physical loads, start kickboxing and the last 3 years doing MMA. Regular exercise considerably eased my condition. Sport is changing my life. And I want to help people change their lives.

To do this, I want to make this summer a great bike tour across Europe, travel by bike (little more than 6500km) through 16 countries in 80 days, under the slogan “Life in Motion”. To show not only to the asthmatics, but also to the rest of the people that the medical diagnosis is not a death sentence and that a person can do much more than it seems at first glance.
