Hello! My name is Emmanuel Valtierra and I draw Smoking Rock Band. This comic is based on the adventures I had years ago with my band but with a twist. I translated everything to a new world where music is more than just entertainment – Execute the right notes at the right time and the power of music will be yours!!! The main characters are four kids. Danny, Gutty, Ramby and Val-waves. They get involved in some crazy events after a concert and they decide to build a rock band. What they don’t know is that now the music gigs are not just about playing for the public but about giving them a great show. But how can you satisfy people at each show? FIGHTING !!!! With the power of music and the power instruments you can compete to see what band is better at controlling and playing music.
The Characters
Gutty is the youngest one in the band, but that doesn’t make him bad with the guitar. He actually plays better than Danny and Val-waves. He is a bit naive for his young age and has a big heart making him the perfect match for a much loved rock star or even a Disney prince. Always smiling sincerely, that’s Gutty
Val-waves is the vocalist and guitarist in the band, with a lot of energy and a big mouth to get in trouble. He doesn’t like losing or looking bad. He is really putting all his effort into making the band succeed in the rock world. He doesn’t really know a lot of things related with music but with a little help of his friends he will surpass any expectations.
Danny is the pretty boy in the band. He can do a mess?? with the bass but with his charisma all the girls will be on their knees when he is around. All the time, Danny is looking over his lil brother Gutty and trying to stop his friends when they fight. In charge of all the BASS POWER Danny is one of the key pieces in the band.
Manga or American comic?
The comic will come in a manga size and black and white, yes, just like a manga. The way you read it will be left to right, so it is not a manga. The style I chose for the drawings was more like silly cartoons. I didn’t wanna pick American or Japanese style because I really like both so I decided to do something more in the middle.
You can be in the comic!
I really love music and drawing and supporting local bands is one of my goals. I will make an open contest in the future (Not part of Kickstarter) for underground bands around the world to appear during the comic and one of the songs will be distributed with the comic. Your band can also be in the comic directly if you support the project. All you need is a good song in English and PooF!!! Your song will be heard all around the world and your band seen in the comic.
It is all about music <3
The main songs will be written by me and some other famous musicians. I’ve been writing music for years and I love it. I play guitar, piano, bass, some violin, and some drums. As I told you before, some of my friends in the music business are gonna be involved in the project. Felix Martin, one of the best guitarists in the world – is one of them. If you don’t know him you can see his work in one of the videos attached or in this link www.felixmartin.net. There are more known bands that will collaborate but that’s gonna be a surprise!

All the money will be used to professionally publish and print the books, to pay the studio we’re gonna use for the songs, for the material we use, and to start a campaign to make this project bigger. Good music and good comics! We do not need anything else.
