Pawnjoker Games proudly launches Smoking Aces on Kickstarter! Smoking Aces is hybrid poker game designed to eliminate some of the “luck” in traditional poker and replace it with “strategy” while maintaining a family friendly and fun atmosphere! Also, if you’ve ever wanted to ruin your friends chance at a straight by destroying his cards with the 3 of Spades, now you can!
Players start by selecting one of the three different setups (Stud, Draw, or Hold ’em). Players then take turns playing one card from their hand into their pocket (a collection of cards face up on the table in front of them that will be scored at the end of the game). Each card may resolves an effect triggered on a variety of situations, which may alter the other players’ chances of assembling a high scoring pocket by the end of the game. Players will need to adapt to an ever changing and highly competitive game state in order to assemble the best possible pocket by the time all players have played all cards from their hands.
The game is over when all players have played all the cards from their hands into their pocket. Players will then need to assemble their best five card pocket from the cards available to them. The player with the highest scoring pocket according to traditional poker hierarchy wins!
Smoking Aces are played with a 52 card deck with each card combined with dramatic game changing effects.
