This is a project of mine that has been going on for far too long. I started it back in 2005 with a concept. A familiar concept in some aspects, which I feel hasn’t been given the attention it deserves. The idea behind it is, that our very own shadows are living creatures and that they live in a hidden world right beside our own.
I have spent many years developing this idea, thinking of how they might live and what might differ in their world from our own. The story is based around a young shadow named Envy, who is born into a world of hate. He tragically has an infliction that we have all felt at one time or another, in that he is obsessed with the one thing he cannot ever have(in his case, light), for a shadow cannot exist in the light.
This first novel is more of a starting point, the back story to the characters if you will. I plan to do a second, and possibly third, depending on the success of the first. The book is roughly 88,000 words.
