In the science fiction thriller Monitor, you are either connected, or you are deleted. Privacy is a crime, enforced by deadly Axons. But when Axon Eric Maddox is disconnected from the network by a mysterious woman, he learns that she is part of a larger plot to overthrow the system. Now, Eric must decide whether to uphold his oath and preserve the system or join the revolution and fight for freedom.

Monitor is an independent, creator-owned 100-page graphic novel by Damian Wampler (writer) and Elisabeth Mkheidze (lines), with color by Lukasz Juśkiewicz, and featuring a cover by Drax Gal and Nick Wentland.

Damian Wampler is a U.S. diplomat, born and raised in Delaware. He earned a B.A. in English and Anthropology from Boston University and an M.A. in Russian and Central Asian Studies from UW-Madison. Damian began his art career in photography and play writing, finding success when his play Twin Towers was accepted into New York City’s Planet Connections Theater Festival in 2009. Damian’s work as a fine art documentary photographer led to two images from his series Darfur in Brooklyn being purchased by the Brooklyn Museum and are held in their permanent collection. Broken Icon Comics published Damian’s first graphic novel, “Sevara”, in 2015. His short comic, “Kingdom of Ashes”, appeared in Geometry Literary Magazine in June 2019. He has three other graphic novels in production now. He also works as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. State Department, currently stationed overseas at the U.S. embassy in Moscow.

Elisabeth Mkheidze is a professional illustrator from the Republic of Georgia. Born and raised in Tbilisi, she has a B.A. in fine art from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and is currently enrolled there in a Restoration and Conservation Master’s program. In 2015 she began working in the comic book industry and created her own fantasy series, “Irene’s Eye.” She went on to work on the first indie comic published in Georgia called “Qarami”. In 2017 her story “A Scorned Hero” was selected to be part of Behemoth Comics’ anthology “Space Copz: Origins.” In 2019 she collaborated with American writer Damian Wampler to complete a sci-fi graphic novel “Monitor” which will be published by Broken Icon Comics in spring 2020. Her new graphic novel, “Golden Lion,” is in production with American creator Grant Freeman.
