Story-based based mayamada have launched a delicious new comic Kickstarter campaign which is now a Kickstarter staff pick after 3 days.
The Samurai Chef Volume 2 Kickstarter aims to print the combined volume 1 and 2 of Samurai Chef, an original manga title written and produced entirely in the UK. The project ends on Monday October 27th and is currently at 200% of its funding goal.
Samurai Chef is an action comedy story with a lot of food. It all begins as a simple cooking competition, but becomes something else when the food is turned into food monsters and begin to fight back!
The second volume picks up immediately where the first left off and sees the Samurai Chef continue to battle his way through a series of dishes cooked up by a series of Elite Chefs. This Kickstarter will be both volume 1 and volume 2 packed into a single print edition.
Produced in collaboration with by UK artist Pinali, mayamada are creating a new style of western manga where YOU are the publisher.
The Samurai Chef book combines elements from western and eastern comic making, features an anthropomorphic cast of characters and is set in a fantasy television world.
mayamada have already run a successful fundraising campaign for volume 1 and will combine volume 1 and 2 into a single 150-page comic printed on high quality paper with a beautiful 300GSM silk stock cover and a perfect bound spine.
mayamada are excited to have been chosen as a staff pick on Kickstarter so quickly. At 16:41 GMT mayamada received an email from Kickstarter informing that the Samurai Chef project was chosen as a staff pick and would be featured in the staff picks section of the website.
This is one for manga and comic fans as well as supporters of original, independently produced work.
