What is the SPDR? SPDR stands for Self-contained Portable Driving range. It’s a pop-up golf net with high quality netting, sturdy frame, and excellent portability. Open the SPDR measures 7’4″ by 10′ and 3′ deep yet it folds down to a 4′ long 8″x8″ bundle weighing only 18lbs. Notably, once assembled it can be broken down and stored with the net still attached.

Who will use it? Golfers novice to pro, instructors, and coaches. Basically anyone who wants the flexibility to practice their swing or teach away from a dedicated driving range or golf course.

Why is the SPDR better? The easy setup design incorporates a gigantic net backed up by fiberglass shock absorbing rods, non-marking feet for use indoors, and tie-down points for use outside. All our past experience making golf nets is on display in the SPDR.

Where we are now: We have two prototype SPDR Golf Nets that we took to the 2014 PGA show and we got a hugely positive response and extremely useful feedback for an actual production run. Unfortunately, positive responses and feedback alone won’t fund our production run. So, we’re trying to raise funds for the production line molding and metal work needed to bring the SPDR to market at the level of quality Rukket is known for.

The idea of the SPDR net was born at a golf trade show watching a team struggle to set up a net for their booth. Their net had all the attributes for a successful golf net: high quality netting, a ball return, and a sizable hitting area. Yet it was still giving this team a hard time; it just wasn’t easy or fast to set up. At the same time, our head of manufacturing, Ryan Dickerson, was investigating the use of fiberglass poles to increase net tension and reduce weight. This gave us our starting point, not only would we solve the set up problem, we would design a fundamentally better golf net. And we would call it the SPDR MK1.
