“Father Sun” Crowd Funding Campaign Launches
Legendary rider, Ron Lechien, and local high school student’s team up to raise funds for film
Luke Seven, Actor/Filmmaker at Father Sky Films located in Littleton, Colorado, today announced that former factory rider, Ron Lechien, and students from Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, Colorado, are teaming up to help raise funds by launching a crowd funding effort to complete, “Father Sun,” a family motocross film.
During the 1980s, Ron Lechien was among the elite of the motocross factory riders, who won the 1985 125 National Championship. Today, Mr. Lechien is retired. Though, he is still active within the motocross community and currently works for Maxima Racing Oils. Now, he is collaborating with students to help Luke Seven raise funds to finish “Father Sun.”
Students are incentivized to raise a specific amount of funds, in order to participate in the picture at different levels. For example, when the funding goal of $138K is achieved, the students will appear in the movie. In addition, funds raised that exceed the donation goal at specific increments, will enable the students to have greater involvement in the film.
“Gratitude says it all! It’s a privilege to have the support of so many passionate students, who are willing to help a local business. I’m excited for them, and confident they will gain a once-in-a-life time movie-making experience,” says Producer Luke Seven.
“Father Sun” is a heartfelt drama that shares the epic journey of how the dangerous sport of motocross brought a father and son together, and how one ill-fated race tore them apart. The motion picture spans several decades and features some of the best factory riders in history.
The Production of “Father Sun” was postponed in 2011 following the tragic death of Luke Seven’s brother, acclaimed short film Director, Robert Cabrera. Robert was responsible for getting “Seven” into dirt bikes and movie-making. The fallen director also served as a consultant to the family film, “Father Sun.” Now, Luke Seven is resuming production of this film by launching a crowd funding campaign.
“Thankfully, the balance of power within the film industry is shifting to the audience. With the birth of crowd funding, the world-wide viewers now tell the filmmaker which movies get made,” says Producer Luke Seven.
Contributions to the “Father Sun” crowd funding campaign may be made at www.FatherSkyFilms.com and www.indiegogo.com. The campaign will run through October 8, 2014.
