Rock Slingers #1 is a 33 page story, plus extra articles written by Doug Nelson and containing illustrations by Josh Mills. It’s a complete story all by itself, starting and finishing in 33 pages. Every issue will follow this format, having no cliffhangers. With the first stretch goal, they’ll be adding a story of JJ’s origin with high flying action. They also include trading cards in some of the reward levels featuring Becky, JJ, Handy Manti, Emilia and David. A fully inked and colored cover. Said trading cards will comprise of the character’s bio, as well as any extra information or commentary.

The story takes place in the near future in the country’s largest commercial space port of its time, Boosterville. The city is facing foreclosure and must find a solution before time runs out. The entire complex of launch pads, offices, space shuttles, and rockets are on the cutting block. There will be lay-offs all around, and the bankers are on their way. However, one of Boosterville’s astronomers has just discovered a small asteroid coming close to earth. It is loaded with gold, platinum, and rare metals. It is a fortune! There’s a space shuttle fully fueled and ready to go. All they have to do is go out there and grab that rock. It’s a race against time as the bankers force their way into the space complex. This is the basis for “ROCK SLINGERS”. It is an amusing look at the future of the Space Program and the Space Industry itself. Everyone who has ever been interested in space travel, space research, science fiction, or simply looking for a good laugh, will find what they want in ROCK SLINGERS.

“His art looks really great, and it’s definitely a cool-sounding premise.” Stan Yan – Squidworks
