Clearwater, FL — New Startup company IOT Controls LLC announced today that it is raising capital via a rewards crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com to finish the development of their revolutionary grill controller.

SMOBOT is a robotic damper that attaches to the top vent of most Kamado style smokers like the popular Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe and Primo Grills.  SMOBOT monitors the temperature inside the smoker using a high temperature probe.  It tells the damper how much to open and close to maintain the chosen temperature.

SMOBOT is unique because it lets the smoker work as it was designed, by controlling the natural airflow.  Existing solutions on the market use power hungry external blowers to force air-flow into the smoker.  Because SMOBOT only moves when it needs to, it uses much less power than blower based systems which allows for many hours of operation on a battery pack if needed.

SMOBOT is wifi connected and allows users to monitor their smoker from anywhere.  Its cloud application mySMOBOT provides detailed information about current grill and food temperatures as well as real time graphing to monitor trends.  MySMOBOT provides alerts based on set conditions to ensure users are informed without having to constantly look at their mobile devices for updates.
