About the team
We’re the team behind “Design & Thinking,” “Maker,” and “Hanzi.” They were all crowdfunded on Kickstarter and distributed independently, selected in many international film festivals including CPH:DOX, A Design Film Festival, Seattle Design Festival and Kikk Festival, screening at organizations all around the world including Google, Twitter and Harvard University. “Relationships” is our new film, and it’s live on Kickstarter right now, already 84% funded!
Kickstarter Reward highlight
We’ll plant a tree for each digital pledge!
Most film projects on Kickstarter have DVD rewards, but DVDs are rarely used nowadays, people usually watch films digitally. We believe digital files are the most convenient and high quality way for our audience and backers to view our films. Digital files are in HD as opposed to SD quality in DVDs, you get a better product that reduces packaging and shipping waste, maintaining a good relationship with our world.
To express our gratitude even further, a tree is planted for each pledge that’s $15 or more. Working with One Tree Planted, a non-profit environmental charity on a mission of global reforestation, and they plant trees in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific.
After our Kickstarter campaign is successfully funded and finished, we’ll have you pick where you want plant your tree on these planting locations, and you will receive a personal Tree Certificate by One Tree Planted. When your planting session takes place, they will send you an update with photos and information.
About the movie
The Covid-19 pandemic has reshaped our personal relationships in unprecedented ways, forcing us to re-examine our relationships with families and partners, also with ourselves. In a time of change and reflection, this film serves as a conversation starter and reminder that we no longer have to choose from tradition but are able to have a broader idea of how we can re-structure and look forward to relationships in a new future.
Alternative relationships such as LATs (Living apart relationships), Open relationships, Swedish concepts of Särbo, Sambo challenge traditional ideas of fidelity and marital structures, while the transition from an authoritative to democratic style of education prompts rethinking of modern families and parenting. Lack of emotional education link to subjects such as toxic masculinity, stigmas towards seeking therapy and depression. Co-living options burgeoning in Asia redefine the meaning of home and community. When social and technological change impact modern relationships, how do we move forward in this ever-changing landscape of human connection?
Currently we’re in the final phase of post-production and distribution, and we need your support to bring the film to the world and spread these unique insights on relationships to a larger audience.
