Emerging artist Raine desires to create a sense of community with her music.
July 24, 2014 — Boston, MA — Raine is the resulting project of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jaqui Rae Stewart. She is currently raising funds on Kickstarter to finalize the creation of her debut EP, Hope Was A Mountain.
By the inspiration and necessity of nature, the justice in marriage equality, and the striking empowerment of solitude, the songs on Hope Was A Mountain show the listener that hope can be found through these sources even in the depths of loneliness and depression.
Music as an entity is increasingly becoming a collaborative experience, not dissimilar to the way it once was where artists were key members of communities who required the concerted effort of their fans in order to remain operable. Today, most musicians are untouchable stars propped up by big label budgets, and their fans experience their creations at a distance. Though that model is evanescing. Raine chose Kickstarter because it is the flagship crowdfunding source, representative of this new chapter for artists and the music industry.
