In May 2015, Celia Quillian and Shelli Delgado, two Atlanta-local millennial actresses with hungry creative spirits, birthed the initial story lines of what is now “Quarter Life*” the web series. Seven months later, after intensive planning, the duo unveiled their social media sites, garnering over 2,000 followers across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in their first month. After releasing a casting call (and receiving over 500 submissions), they finalized their main cast and launched the compelling (and hilarious) Indiegogo campaign video below. Within 10 days, their project reached 45% of its goal, and support keeps rolling in.

Quarter Life*” follows two women in their mid-20s who, after being partnered to create online videos for their magazine company, form an unlikely friendship. Together, they battle the absurdity that is their mid-twenties, including: dating, maintaining their health, dealing with weird co-workers, making new friends, and generally discovering their place in the universe.

“Quarter Life*” is a (too) true-to-life representation of what it really means to be in your mid-twenties. It’s about the kind of night that starts and ends with Ramen noodles. The friends that take away your phone when they see you’ve been swiping left and right all night. Learning that laughter is probably the only effective way to survive these years. At its heart, “Quarter Life*” is about relationships. About the people that come in and out of your life right when you need them most. People who change you for the better. People who strengthen your spine. People that watch out for you (even if you don’t want them to). People who teach you there is more to life than just the current situation.

“Quarter Life*” is the celebration, never the crisis, of finding yourself in a world that’s still absurd and new.

Currently, the series consists of seven tight-and-hilarious 10-minute episodes, as well as a number of comedic shorts. These shorts will conceptually be “created” by the main characters of the show, Celia Mitchem and Shelli Colt, as part of their viral-video duties at their magazine company jobs, and will delve even further into the millennial-life-absurdities of being fresh out of college. Their cast includes numerous Atlanta favorites, ranging from stand-up comics to seasoned Theatre professionals, and their crew consists of a youthful but experienced group of filmmakers and film-school graduates. The team is slated to start their production process in early Spring 2016.
