New York, NY — Shorter Men up to 5’8” make up 1/3 of the US Male population making it one of the most underserved markets in fashion. FiveEight Apparel is out to change that, and more through their first collection of proportionately re-designed clothing for men up to 5’8″.
At only 5’6” tall our founder is inspired to create a brand that better represents diversity in the fashion industry. “We are creating a brand, but more importantly, we are building a platform to celebrate and promote diversity in fashion. FiveEight Apparel was created with diversity at its core and we are incorporating this principle into all aspects of our business including: models, designers, influencers, decision makers and the clothing itself.” Michael Valdez, Founder
FiveEight Apparel is launching its first ever line for men up to 5’8” on Kickstarter that is designed in New York and made in the USA. The garments are proportionately re-designed and looked at details such as lengths, sleeves and taper points. This first line includes office-wear and weekend-wear staples such as button-downs and chino’s. Additional items are pipelined for Spring 2016 that include: joggers, t-shirts and denim along with a Women’s Petites line in Summer 2016.
FiveEight Apparel is seeking $35,000 to go into production for this first collection with a variety of contribution rewards. These rewards include items from the collection and #fashiondiversity gear such as t-shirts and bracelets to promote this movement within the industry. The campaign also features a series of stretch goals for the continued development of the brand. These goals include additional items such as Jackets, additional colors and more. FiveEight Apparel will have their Kickstarter run through December 1st, 2015.
