Marquette, MI – Locally run Youth & Family Center at Lake Superior Village is composed of individuals who are dedicated to helping the at-risk youth of the community. One of the great benefits they aim to provide these children is with an exceptional summer camp program. This program allows these underprivileged children the ability to continue there education and fun into the summer. Set in the outdoor environment, this summer camp program allows for children to play and learn in the outdoors. Many of these children come from low-income families and are likely to miss out on many of the key aspects to childhood without the help of this organization. We aim to help this organization provide this summer camp program for the children. This program allows for all expenses of the summer camp to be taken care of for the children who are likely to miss the opportunity otherwise. Through the Crowdfunding community we aim to allow this program to continue by raising the funds needed!
Our Mission:
We strive to provide the underprivileged youth of Marquette, Michigan and surrounding area a unique summer camp experience and more importantly give them a solid opportunity to continue their learning into the summer and have fun while doing it. The Youth and Family Center, along with dedicated volunteers strive to give these children the opportunity of a lifetime that they otherwise may miss out on. We hope to gain the support and sponsorships necessary in order to give these children everything they deserve in a fun and safe way.
Our goal is to raise 3,000 dollars so that these underprivileged kids will have a great 3 day summer camp adventure. Every time $310 dollars is donated, one kid is allowed to travel into the forest to experience first hand adventure training. That can be kayaking, canoeing, fire techniques, and much more.
