Hello everyone, my name is Janet Contero. There is no good way to ask for help with your dog’s surgery expenses. Yummers is a mixed Maltese. She is about 15-16 years old. She was a foster so I am not sure of her exact age. She has been with me for 12 years. She is an amazing dog! Even though she is older she is very active. She loves people. She is a great emotional support to everybody she comes into contact with. Back in May Yummers had salivary gland surgery where she had one of her glands removed. She was breathing much better after the surgery. But within a matter of 2 weeks or so her neck all of a sudden looked like it was swollen with liquid. Within the month her side was swollen. We took her back to get checked out and were told it was not a big issue since it didn’t seem that her breathing was affected. Thinking everything was okay we left happy knowing she was okay.

However, not long after the other side near the bottom of her neck looked affected. She is having a hard time breathing now! Her barking has been affected and now when she barks it’s a muffled bark. She has a hard time sleeping. She will wake up and do her best to catch a breath. She will need pre-op blood work, an x-ray, and an ultrasound before having the surgery. The surgeon thinks the gland on her left side might be in the back of her throat, which will be difficult to get to. We appreciate you taking the time to read Yummer’s story! A big thank you in advance for any and all donations. Any and all funds will go directly to Yummer’s surgeries and recovery. www.gofundme.com
