A Kickstarter Campaign for the Sip & SpinTM Cup to Make Water Fun to Drink.

For generations, parents have been turning each spoonful of baby food into airplanes, trains, and other creations just to get their baby to take a bite. Getting kids to drink water often presents a similar challenge. The Sip & SpinTM Cup solves this problem by making it fun to drink water. It has an interactive pinwheel that spins when it’s sipped.

“We created the Sip & SpinTM Cup to be fun, because kids like anything better when it’s fun”, says Claire Massie, one of the developers of the Sip & SpinTM. “Some days my daughter would go the whole morning without drinking more than a few sips of water, no matter how many times I gave her a cup.  She would get so absorbed in playing that she’d forget to drink, even when a cup was in her hand. Now, the Sip & SpinTM Cup provides that motivation by making water fun to drink.”

The spinning pinwheel can be used to motivate kids in other situations, too. It may ease the transition from a bottle or spouted sippy cup to a straw cup. If a child is hooked on juice or other sugary drinks, many resources suggest offering water in a fun cup, and this is just the thing.

Kids will have fun controlling the pinwheel with their suction, making it spin faster or orienting it to see their favorite characters.  Parents will appreciate that the Sip & SpinTM Cup is easy to drink from, dishwasher safe, quick to assemble, and durable. It is made of top-quality materials that are BPA-free and Phthalate-free.

Claire Massie is a mom and engineer. She works as the creative director for nuSpin Kids, a startup company based in Long Beach, California, focused on developing fun and functional products.
