Coppell, TX — Robert Strong has recently launched his Indiegogo campaign to raise money to buy the vacant property that makes up Tiller Oregon.
Mr. Strong said, “I’ve been looking for a property to purchase and start an small sustainable spa and resort, Synergy Spa & Resort. Tiller jumped out at me as an extraordinary opportunity. Both because of the pre existing infrastructure and water rights included in the sale, and the potential of rejuvenating the town itself, but the natural beauty surrounding it.”
Mr. Strong, a 56 year old database developer currently living in Texas, was born in California but grew up in Oregon. His plans for Tiller include recruiting entrepreneurs and artists to the town to open galleries, small stores, restaurants and possibly even a brewery.
The Synergy Spa & Resort would be integrated in the forest area along the riverfront on the South Umpqua River, using geodesic domes, state of the art composting toilets and solar power along with existing power sources. The 3.8 price tag also includes the former elementary school which Mr. Strong says will house the Spa and other amenities.
Strong also plans to open part of the land to third party partners to offer activities such as zip lining, horseback riding and mountain biking. Mr. Strong describes his plans as, “The resort, the town and the land will be joined synergistically together. Hence the name Synergy Spa & Resort @ Tiller. We can revitalize the town of Tiller and help grow the economy of southern Douglas County.”
