The revolutionary new design behind PICO offers an incredible hearing aid appropriate for people with mild to moderately-severe hearing loss. It is 110% invisible because of its size: 7.2mm X 6.3mm X 4.1mm, designed to follow the natural curve of the ear. Half the size of the smallest devices currently on the market.
Inspired by micro components and nano battery technology we wanted to create a completely different device and with possibility of programming on personal computers at home. The difference between the previous hearing aids and our is that we have managed to reduce the size, thanks to a brand new nano-batteries. They are only nanometers in dimension, integrated, self-loading and eternal.
PICO was built by an international team of audiologists, engineers and nano-engineers. We’ve spent the last six months designing and prototyping the worlds smallest hearing instrument. The latest generation of microchips guarantees high quality sound, and a maximum output with more than 120 dB. A programmable sound processing system designed to work millimeters from the eardrum, allowing us to fit both microphone and receiver placement in the ear canal.
PICO captures sound in the same way your ears were designed to do. Device gently preserves and amplifies sounds so that what you hear is always clear – and you will be able to participate confidently in all situations. Microphone is at the beginning of the canal. The speaker output is close to the eardrum. Because of this there is no ideal placement of the occlusion effect, so there is no venting required. This positioning reduces the risk of internal feedback and wind noise, allowing active users to comfortably enjoy the sounds around them.
The benefit of the PICO is that it keeps your ear canal open and the important for localizing sounds because the perception of sounds depends heavily on whether it comes from the back, the side or the front as the sound is influenced by the pinna and the ear canal.
