London, England — November 11 2015 | New Wine Picker App Wants to Be Your Pocket Sommelier. Intuitive wine app scans and recommends the best sips from restaurants wine lists; recently launched Kickstarter campaign.

Two London entrepreneurs are seeking to revolutionize the dining experience with Wine Picker, an app that suggests the best wines at any given restaurant at an instant. Launching early 2016, Wine Picker allows users who are dining out to select their preferred wine color, set their wine bottle budget, and the app will recommend the five most optimal choices from the restaurant’s wine list.

“We know that choosing wine in a restaurant can be quite a challenge when there is no seasoned sommelier to come to your rescue,” says co-founder Julien Sahut, a sommelier who’s worked at distinguished restaurants including London’s China Tang at The Dorchester and the Michelin 2* Hibiscus.

The app also assists with food pairings and features profiles where users can share personal tasting notes in-app and via social networks. “We have developed a complete solution that will put the best-value wines in the UK and US just a few swipes away,” says co-founder Josselin Guibert, an avid wine enthusiast and finance professional.

Sahut and Guibert have recently launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign to raise £25,000 by December 8, 2015. Perks offered to backers range from free-for-life app access and wine posters to premium, engraved Damascus corkscrews and Michelin 3* dinners with the Wine Picker founders in London. Current Kickstarter campaign seeks to raise funds for core development costs, ongoing software enhancements and marketing. The app is set to launch on iPhone and Android in early 2016 and will cover the majority of USA and UK restaurants that feature wine lists.
