Burlingame, CA – September 24, 2014 – PathSource has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of a mobile app to answer the question on many young people’s minds – what do I want to be when I grow up?

“The app will change the way young Americans explore careers,” says Aaron Michel, CEO and co-founder of PathSource. “We’ll take young adults from ‘I don’t have a clue what I want to do’ to ‘I have a job’ – and put it in the palm of their hands.”

The app is intended for Americans age 18-30. It’s free to download and is based on powerful SaaS tools that PathSource had previously developed for use by educational institutions. It flips the career search process on its head by having young adults find out how much they need to earn and then connects that with careers that can spark their passion.

Young adults can take a five-minute lifestyle assessment that translates their desired lifestyle into the after-tax salary needed to support it. The app then creates a monthly budget for users based on where they want to live and their spending habits. Users receive career recommendations and job options that will support that budget and fit their career interests. Additionally, users of the app can explore a variety of occupations via 2,600 proprietary informational video interviews.

In the career data section students can assess important factors like salaries, education requirements, and best cities for a specific job. Then they can apply for jobs and receive personalized recommendations on how to save money based on their lifestyle and location.

With its Kickstarter campaign launching on September 24, PathSource plans to meet their goal of $20,000 by October 24. With the help of the Kickstarter campaign, the PathSource app is set to launch in early November.
