Backers sought for a new collection of engaging music from multi-awarded, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Patsy Moore.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., January 25, 2014 – Papa Chuy Media announces today that it is 24 days into a 60-day crowdfunding campaign in support of Patsy Moore’s new, 10-song music album, Hiraeth.

The campaign is part of a three-tiered strategy to finance the recording, mixing, mastering, and first-run manufacturing, distribution and promotion of the project — a heartfelt, thought-provoking examination of love, longing and home. The funding goal is $20,000.

Patsy Moore first rose to international attention in the 1990s — both as a solo recording artist and as a songwriter whose tunes have been covered by numerous other artists stretching across varied genres. Most often noted as an interpreter of Moore’s songs is jazz great Dianne Reeves.

Moore’s music is categorized as Adult Album Alternative (aka “Triple-A” — think: Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Sarah McLachlan, Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell, Laura Mvula, Annette Peacock, Bon Iver, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel). Her body of work draws freely from an eclectic array of influences. Since the 1994 conclusion of a multi-album deal with Warner Bros., Moore has composed for film, TV, theater and commercials while releasing two albums as an independent. Her last indie project, the conceptual Expatriates, made 18 music critics’ Best of 2011 lists. Wrote one reviewer: “[She] is an artist who creates world class art on the margins of obscurity without the support of a major label… [s]o, the beauty, complexity and depth of her expression, and the artful quality of her songs and recording, bespeak not only her vision, but her audacious commitment…”

Perks-eligible backing options for Hiraeth begin at $5. Perks available to all backers on Indiegogo include a personal handwritten note from the artist; access, in April 2014, to an online portal called HOME, in which exclusive visitors may view original short-form films, download a bonus song and collection of personal essays, and get the inside scoop via “Making of” interviews and other behind-the-scene features. Those who back Moore’s new album with $25 or more also receive a physical copy of Hiraeth.

The CD is expected to ship in April 2014. Its first single, “Say My Name”, is slated for worldwide release in February 2014. The album title is a Welsh word loosely translated as “a deep longing for a home either real or imagined”.

Moore, joined by a band, also will be showcasing music from Hiraeth on February 8, 2014 at Off the Wall Community Music Lounge, 2043-A Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica, CA.
