January 15, 2014 – Coos Bay OR – Oregon Seafoods’ Kickstarter campaign is raising money via pledges to fund two new heat-and-serve, dairy-free soups: a tasty clam chowder and a creamy pink shrimp bisque in a convenient pouch, currently not offered anywhere. The campaign has less than 30 days left to reach its goal of $50,750 for product development and testing, packaging, production and promotion.
It’s estimated that 30 to 50 million Americans are lactose intolerant, limiting many from enjoying seafood soup classics that are loaded with protein and heart healthy Omega-3s. Consumers with food allergies will soon be able to enjoy the health benefits and convenience Sea Fare Pacific’s unique seafood pouches offer.
Oregon Seafoods found that although many grocery buyers and consumers love their award-winning line of Sea Fare Pacific products, many are looking for dairy-free alternatives. It wasn’t much of a stretch for owner Mike Babcock to decide to add this category to the already successful line of GMO-free, locally caught sustainable all-fish fillets and soups in the form of three Albacore tuna curries. The next logical step is to offer dairy-free seafood soups not yet found on store shelves.
Oregon Seafoods manufactures a fabulous award-winning line of sustainable, healthful products – from solid tuna and salmon fillets to convenient ready-to-heat soups and curries. Branded under the Sea Fare Pacific label, thee products offer minimally processed local wild-caught fish from their southern Oregon coast plant. The difference between Sea Fare Pacific and other brands is remarkable:
- The smaller, younger Albacore is line caught in the cold water of the Oregon, Washington and northern California coasts – rather than the traditional larger, older tuna processed in Southeast Asia – for a fresher, safer* and certified sustainable** product
- Fish is hand-processed at ice cold temperatures and cooked just once – not twice as with traditional canned tuna – in a BPA-free pouch, retaining all the natural nutritional benefits and flavor
Oregon Seafoods takes great pride in providing the superior health benefits of wild Pacific Albacore tuna and salmon while keeping the entire catch-process-package loop right here in the United States. With its own dock just minutes from the processing facility, fish is purchased directly from local family-owned fishing boats. The company works closely with the Oregon State University Seafood Research Lab to produce a superior product free of preservatives and fillers.
Unlike other processors, Oregon Seafoods’ plant runs year round, producing ready-to heat soups and curries in addition to consumer- and restaurant-packaged premium fish fillets.
Oregon Seafoods, processor and manufacturer of the Sea Fare Pacific brand of line-caught wild Albacore and salmon fish fillets and ready-to-eat soups and curries, is located at 732 S Second Street in Coos Bay.
