They used to make cars to last.
-Yeah, sure, but you wouldn’t dare take a 38 year old car on a 10000+ km trip, would you?
As a matter of fact, I would.
-Prove it!
Sure!
Maybe you have faith in classic cars and their engineering. Maybe you doubt them. Either way, you would probably be interested in seeing one attempt a 10000+ km trip, either hoping to see it succeed or hoping for a chance to say “I told you so”. I am offering the opportunity to do so. Support my campaign, sit back and enjoy the show!
The car in question is a 1977 Opel Kadett, nicknamed OldSchool. It has a 1.2 liter engine and rear wheel drive (as I’m sure every fan already knows).
The route of the trip is, at this point, quite vague. Don’t take this to mean I’m not taking it seriously. It’s just that the route I would like to take would currently put me in harms way due to the unstable situation in the area. However, if this does not improve by the time I’m ready to take the trip I will simply alter it. The replacement route will no doubt offer just as much excitement. After all, it’s about OldSchool proving his worth, not visiting a specific place.
I will provide updates as often as possible via facebook/youtube. Not just bleak updates on the progress of the endeavour, I plan to add photos and/or videos of anything interesting I come across (be it scenery, people, traffic…). Also, once I return I will compile the best of the footage into a documentary about the journey which will, no doubt, make for an interesting viewing experience!
Join me on this adventure, see the people I meet, the experiences I have and the challenges I meet along the way! life.indiegogo.com
