Work Life, a new short drama produced by Split Focus Films in association with Falmouth University and The School of Film and Television for MA Film & Television.

Adam Drake makes his directorial debut with this short drama about a young graduate who moves to London to begin his dream job at prestigious management consultancy, Generation. But will his dream become a nightmare?

Work Life is inspired by Adam’s past experience working in management consultancy before beginning his film career, with much of the film’s plot being exaggerated reimagining of events he witnessed during his time in the industry. Adam and his crew of MA Film & TV students, as well as graduates of the University’s BA Film and TV courses, hope to expose the harsh realities of the corporate world through ambitious narrative filmmaking.

Andrew Nile serves as producer on his first narrative film since the completion of his BA Film degree with his 10 minute films Salami Street (Dir. Connor Brown 2017) and Longwave (Dir. Cain Popovski-Smith 2017). The latter of which having been picked up by the University for entry onto the festival circuit.

The team are currently running a Kickstarter campaign in the hopes of raising their £2000 budget. With just under 50% of their goal reached so far and just 12 days remaining on the campaign, a lot of pressure is riding on whether or not the campaign will be successfully funded. Even with producer Andrew Nile’s experience with successfully funding 3 prior short film campaigns, it’s going to be interesting to see if the team can pull it off with the help of the Kickstarter community.

Hopefully luck will be on their side. As production begins in just over a week, it would be unfortunate if the crew lost out on their funds during the film’s production.
