Fsquared Games, a new and upcoming tabletop game company, recently launched their new H.P. Lovecraft inspired board game on kickstarter entitled Decampment. This new game is not just for avid fans of H.P. Lovecraft’s work but for anyone who enjoys a well created board game.
Decampment is a free roam survival game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s short story “The Shadow over Innsmouth”.In Decampment, you are an outsider passing through the town of Innsmouth,MA when you get captured by cult members of the Esoteric Order of Dagon. The Esoteric Order of Dagon is the primary religion in the town of Innsmouth. The cult members, who follow the order, plan to sacrifice you to the Deep Ones. Deep Ones are a fish-frog-like creatures who live under the ocean and often mate with the villagers of Innsmouth. By sacrificing you to the deep ones, the cult members will receive gold and fish in abundance. Will you be able to escape the town of Innsmouth before you become another offering to the Deep Ones?
The object of Decampment is to escape the town of Innsmouth by collecting 4 keys that have been hidden around the town. While searching for the keys you will have to fight off cult members as well as your friends. You’ll be answering questions to keep your sanity and to get action cards. You’ll also be collecting weapons off of dead bodies to increase your attack so you are better able to fight your way out of the town of Innsmouth. With different levels of the cult members hierarchy to fight, Decampment keeps interest and competitiveness at high levels. Along with a wonderful storyline the players get a real in-depth experience throughout the game and as you play the game itself gets harder. When you have all the keys not only does the cult members want to stop but you just became the target of all your friends.
Decampment was developed to be enjoyed by everyone, not just Lovecraftians. A lot of effort and play testing went into Decampment.
