Get Up and Go began with the idea that a cup of coffee and a baked good can be combined into one convenient product, for a better price. Get Up And Go was started by University of Michigan Alumni Chris Bogdan. Bogdan ran into a recurring problem, in which he was spending almost $6-$7 dollars a day on a cup of coffee and a muffin every morning before his Neuroscience lectures. Trying to solve this problem, he began putting his degree to good use and recrystallizing caffeine in his home kitchen. After months of research and development, he finally figured out how to mask the taste of the caffeine and scale up extraction.
Chris currently has his product in 20 stores, and about 14 corporate locations, with a goal to expand to a couple hundred stores this year. He plans on running a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 launching April 21st. With these funds he can begin his first large manufacturing run. His company has been featured in Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, and many notable press sources, due to it’s unqiue concept and acceptance among coffee drinkers, foodies, and people who love caffeine.
