The Development of Accento aims to improve the practicing methods for musicians-enthusiasts by providing a software combination of frequency and rhythm recognition accompanied by a learning methodology for much more efficient and faster learning success.
For every student-musician, the exercising period without the help of a teacher is by far the largest one. Depending on the learning level, practice takes between 70-95% of the total playing time. This overwhelming period is spent on his/her own.
However, all pupils invest a lot of growth potential in the exercise period, the progress stays small and stagnant. As a consequence, there is a lack of pleasure and exercise demolitions are not seldom.
As a solution, a software system is needed, which can transfer the quality of the lesson under the teacher’s control into the practicing period on alone.
The music software ACCENTO combines frequency, rhythm and timbre recognition techniques accompanied by a didactically built collection of music pieces. The students of all performance levels would be able to use the software, especially at home during the practice hours.
A musician plays the notes marked on the screen and receives feedback about the correctly or incorrectly played notes after it. In the second step, the program runs the appropriate exercises suggested and selected according to the student’s errors to correct and practice them. All exercises are performed at appropriate speeds and small increases in tempo, so that at the end of the correction unit (2nd step) the play is guaranteed to be mastered.
The instrument educational material is designed by top musicians and consist of well-known and self-composed songs, exercises and etudes. The music pieces are integrated into the didactic learning concept and are coordinated with each other. The different levels of difficulty are combined with the different music styles so that one can choose from many different music sheets of different styles. Thus, the learning path is individually adapted to the needs of a student.
The quality and the intensity of personal instrumental lessons with a teacher are to be transferred to the exercise period. In this way, the musician has to be optimally looked after, especially during the practicing period – which takes more than 80% of the total playing time.
It is also very important to hold the body correctly while playing an instrument. Our program will also give feedback to the users according to their body position.
