MUGMODs, “The Coolest Drinking System on the Planet!” is kicking off its North American debut with a foray on KICKSTARTER, a popular crowd-sourcing site. “Come see our MUGMODs Project,” says a very excited Joe Suljak. “We think you’re going to love where this project is going!”
MUGMODs is a modular drinking platform that allows you to build it your way. You choose the function, the colors, the size, the shape and the message. Change-it-up again and again – to truly make it your own! That’s how the co-founders envisioned it nearly two years ago.
Jeff Kerr (Cambridge, Ontario) and Joe Suljak (Kitchener, Ontario) are co-founders of this unique product. They met while completing the MBA program at Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, ON) in late 2010. That’s where the pair first discussed the concept of ‘mass customization’ and later adapted it to their own product. “Our patent-pending ring system allows for a unique experience, allowing you to change-it-up, again and again.” explains Suljak.
“The travel mug and fun-cup components are ready to go and we can’t wait to share them with you! Come see our ‘Signature Series,’ the ‘World’s Cup with a Twist’ product and the interactive ‘Face’ designs. We’ll put a little play-in-your-day with some fun products!”
With a MUGMOD, there are many extras as well. The low-contact stainless steel insert has great insulating properties, making it perfect for hot and cold drinks alike. The “4-in-1” sizing feature makes it flexible and useful in a variety of ways. Each MUGMOD product comes with a hidden compartment that can be used for short-term storage. “I often put spare change or keys in there,” admits Suljak.
Since the outer rings are removable, Joe thinks Artists and Craft-enthusiast will find exciting ways to create their own ring designs. “There are endless ways to personalize and we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible – come and see,” says Suljak.

The duo will introduce you to MUGMODs through a light-hearted video compilation. “We had so much fun with this video, we even built the world’s tallest travel mug – just for you,” shares Suljak.
