What Moves You? A Film for Runners launches KICKSTARTER Campaign

PORTLAND, Oregon – “What Moves You?”, a feature-length documentary film that explores the inspiration and motivation that modern cultures associate with running, announced the launch of its KICKSTARTER campaign beginning today. The project is live on KICKSTARTER until September 10, 2014: www.kickstarter.com

The film’s producers, runners themselves, chose to go to the running community to fund this film. “We saw an outpouring of support for the film at events and on social media,” explained Jason Wilkinson, one of four producers. “They want to see this film made. We’ve discovered every runner has a story, and we want to unveil that common story – The story of the every runner.”

Partnering with brands such as TribeSports, Outdoor Tech, Hydro Flask, Replace SR, and Skout Organic, as well as high profile events like the Portland Marathon and Big Sur Marathon, “What Moves You?” has come up with unique and compelling rewards for their KICKSTARTER “crowd-funding” backers. One titled, Your 6 Seconds of Fame, allows the backer to be in the film by video recording themselves with a smart phone and uploading it to the production team.

Another pledge level titled, The Motivator, allows the backer to send a box of day-old Voo Doo Donuts signed by the crew, with a personal note, and a XXL “What Moves You?” T-shirt to a person of their choice. Pledge levels range from $10 to $10,000.

Pending success of their KICKSTARTER Campaign, production is expected to continue throughout 2014 and 2015 with an anticipated release Spring 2015.
