Next up: hitting their stretch goals and unlocking three new adorable characters!

Toronto toy company, the Monster Factory, has a new line of plush toys coming to life—thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. The project, entitled The Mythicals: Handmade Plush Toys, was launched on Tuesday, July 15th. In only six days, with contributions from a slew of generous backers, the Monster Factory secured their $12,000 goal enabling them to start production on the first three characters in the new collectable line. The mythical-beast themed plush toys include a forgetful dragon named Spencer, a taco loving unicorn named Margot, and Cthulhu, a charming but sleepy beast (just don’t wake him unexpectedly or there will be trouble).

“Launching this new line through Kickstarter has been a truly exciting experience for us at the Monster Factory. We are thrilled by the support our campaign has garnered and have found it very rewarding to engage our fans in our development process.”- Bliss Man, Co-Founder

With over twenty days left in the crowd-sourced campaign, the Monster Factory team has set their sights on raising enough funds to unlock three additional characters through their Kickstarter “stretch goals.” If unlocked, the final three Mythicals include: the very majestic Pegasus, a sweet-natured Yeti and last, but not least, a very curious sea monster! This next round of Mythicals, just like the first, are all approximately 10 inches tall and made of a soft, high quality micro polar fleece. Each Mythical will also feature a special edition Kickstarter label and a hangtag displaying his or her name and hilarious personality that will be signed by one of the creators.

Pledging the Mythicals campaign will also remain the only way to get one or more of the limited “Kickstarter” edition monsters, an important message that the Monster Factory will be reminding their fans about, as well!

With 20 days to go, the Monster Factory still has some magic up their sleeves to keep the crowdfunding community excited about their campaign. They plan to run character naming contests for each new Mythical on Facebook and Instagram. They will also be including their fans in creation of the new character one to two sentence write ups, again via social media. Plus, they have plenty of engaging content and behind the scenes fun to share.

The Mythicals: Handmade plush Kickstarter campaign ends at midnight, Sunday, August 10th, 2014. By that time, the Monster Factory hopes to raise an additional $12,000 to have the full series of six toys handmade in Toronto.
