1.8 billion photos are uploaded daily to Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, indicating the magnitude of photo taking behavior of mobile users.

Keeping photos organized seems to be nearly impossible for the many, and for this reason, Memom came up with the service to tidy up the memorable photos for families with small children. Memom’s beta iOS app automatically sorts photos by the date the photos were taken, and displays them along beautiful timelines which are created by each child. This enables parents to reminisce the progress of their children from their births, providing them emotional throwbacks.

Prior to the launch of the beta iOS app, Waki Yoneoka, the sole founder of Memom examined the patterns of family photos through the three-phased pilot testings. Collecting two to ten thousands of photos from each pilot user, she manually picked best photos to curate them into printed and online photo albums. The patterns she learned through this became the core essence of Memom’s current product, enabling Memom to make their product best for family with small children. It helps parents keep track of their child’s progress and keep close family members updated without hassle by an instant sharing function. (* “Behind the Scene” series has been released on our blog recently.)

Memom distinguishes themselves from other photo storage / sharing products by excelling the users experience of “photo selection”. Once they complete the integration of the face recognition technology, the system will identify only the photos that include family members’ faces. Consequently, users can expedite selecting only important photos that retain deep personal meanings out of other random photos such as food photos, screenshots, and pictures that users took to remind themselves for some practical reasons. “Too many photos” problems solved.

From the current beta product, Memom aims to bring their product to the next level. They plan to integrate with face recognition, add printing options, and build Android app to support Android users.

In order to achieve next product development milestones, Memom is running a crowdfunding campaign. The campaign has marked 25% of their Crowdfunding goal of 5,000 dollars within 5 days of going live. The campaign is launched on the newly launched crowdfunding platform Woomentum.fund.
